Privacy Policy

Moth is a self-care app designed around affirmations, quests, reflections, discoveries, progress, and other personal wellness experiences. This policy explains the information Moth may process and how it is used.

Information you create in Moth

Moth may store information you create or generate while using the app, including custom affirmations and quests, quest responses and history, Memory Jar entries, saved or liked content, app progress, streak activity, achievements, moth discoveries, selected categories, and app preferences.

Much of this information is stored locally on your device. If you choose to sign in and use cloud backup, supported progress and user-created content may also be stored securely in Moth's cloud backend so it can be restored or synchronized.

Account and authentication information

If you choose to sign in, Moth may receive basic account information from the authentication provider, such as your email address, an account identifier, and authentication information needed to maintain your signed-in session. Moth uses this information to provide account features and associate cloud backups with the correct account.

Cloud backup and synchronization

For signed-in users, Moth may securely synchronize selected progress and user-created content with its cloud backend. Cloud synchronization is used to back up and restore supported Moth data across sessions or devices. Moth does not use cloud-saved reflections or other personal self-care content for targeted advertising.

Trusted time and technical information

Moth may contact a trusted-time service so streaks, seasonal content, discoveries, and other date-based features can work reliably. Like most internet services, Moth's infrastructure providers may automatically process standard technical information such as IP address, device or request information, and timestamps as needed to deliver and protect their services.

Purchases and subscriptions

If Moth offers paid features or subscriptions, purchase processing is handled through the applicable app store and supporting subscription infrastructure. Moth may receive information needed to determine whether an entitlement or subscription is active, but does not receive your full payment-card number from the app store.

Sharing

Moth may let you share certain content using your device's built-in sharing features. Sharing happens only when you choose to use those features. The app or service you choose to share with may handle that information under its own privacy practices.

Data sales and advertising

Moth does not sell your personal information. Moth does not use your private reflections, Memory Jar entries, or other user-created self-care content for targeted advertising.

Deleting your information

Moth includes controls that can remove or restart portions of your local progress. You can also remove locally stored app data by uninstalling Moth, subject to device or operating-system backups. If you have a Moth account, you can request deletion of your account and associated cloud data through Moth support at support@mothselfcare.com.

Service providers

Moth may rely on service providers for functions such as authentication, cloud storage and synchronization, trusted time, app distribution, and subscription management. These providers may process information as necessary to provide their respective services and do so under their own terms and privacy policies.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect Moth data. No device, storage system, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Children

Moth is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information that should be removed, contact us.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may change as Moth develops or adds features. When it changes, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated.
